July Gaming Spotlight: Ravens Gone in 60 Seconds

Our Pick of the Month: The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief

Summer is upon us and so was the Steam sale alongside many gaming goodies. The cream of the crop, in our humble opinion, is one of the best adventure games in recent memories. Thanks to the wizards at KING Art, a mystifying tale of murder mystery (That was a lot of M's!) unravels in a setting that is rife with detail, amazing graphics, voice works and music. First off, the gameplay is your standard adventure fare but don't let that fool you, this isn't your typical low-budget adventure title stemming from eastern Europe; it's rich, beautiful and at times haunting. With modern graphic effects and stunning sound design, I loved The Raven. Whether you love adventure games, never played one or just don't care, this game is still worth a look. This is just Chapter 1 of the series so I can't wait to see what's next -- w00t!

Europe strikes again as the folks at Nadeo and Ubisoft bring us the next entry in that gearhead crazy series, Trackmania, this time, they aren't messing around with stadium tracks, loops and all sorts of insanity. If you have played any of the entries before this one, you know what you are in for. If you haven't played any, you suck. Just kidding but seriously this game is smooth. Very smooth indeed with a racing engine that is second to none. Don't even get me started on the graphics and sound as they are incredibly detailed and run fast on any modern gaming machine. While Canyon was my fave of the series so far, Stadium deserves a purchase as well. You can compete either locally, over the Internet or just against the PC. This is racing at its finest folks!
